Warehouse Wi-Fi Installation in Nashville, TN
Read projectClose projectProject at a glance
- Location: Nashville, Tennessee
- Facility type: Commercial warehouse
- Scope: Wireless network design and access point installation
- Equipment: Four commercial Wi-Fi access points with new structured cabling
- Timeline: Cabling completed over a weekend, fully operational by Monday
The Challenge
A Nashville warehouse had large gaps in its wireless coverage. Staff relied on tablets for daily work, but those devices kept dropping off the network or wouldn't connect at all.
On a warehouse floor, that becomes an operations problem quickly. When a tablet loses its connection mid-task, the work tied to it stops. Data doesn't sync, employees walk around looking for a signal, and simple jobs take longer than they should.
The client needed a business Wi-Fi solution that covered the whole building. They also needed it installed without pulling their team off the floor during the workweek.
The Solution
Wired Optics started with the layout of the building, not the hardware. Open floor space, metal racking, and high ceilings all change how a wireless signal travels. In a space like this, where you place an access point matters as much as which access point you choose.
Adding more equipment wasn't the answer. Instead, we designed a warehouse wireless network around the facility itself. The final design used four commercial-grade access points, placed so their coverage areas overlap and devices can move across the floor without losing signal.
Our technicians mounted each unit at height on the building's steel framework. All overhead work was done from a scissor lift with fall protection in place.
The structured cabling was scheduled for the weekend so it wouldn't interfere with operations. We routed and terminated each cable run, organized the connections at each access point, and had the network online before staff arrived Monday.
The Result
By Monday morning, the client had a new warehouse Wi-Fi network with even coverage across the building. Tablets connected and stayed connected, whether staff were near the front office or working at the far end of the floor.
The installation didn't cost the client a single workday. The team came in Monday to a network that worked, and the client was very happy with the outcome.
Is Your Warehouse Dealing With Dead Zones?
Large facilities are harder to cover than most people expect. Metal racking, building materials, and ceiling height all affect signal strength, and a layout that works in an office often falls short in a warehouse.
If your devices keep dropping their connection, the fix is usually better access point placement, not more equipment. Every building is different, so we look at your space before recommending anything.
